Central Marin NRG Radio Network

In the event of a Bay Area wide emergency event, such as a far reaching earthquake,  neighbors prepare to help each other at the individual Neighborhood Response Group level, as well as within the Central NRG Network (41 NRGs as of Feb 2019) and the Central Marin Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT).

If the power is out and cellular networks are overloaded, taken by first responders, or down, NRGs can use their FRS/GMRS radio network to communicate amongst themselves, with Central Marin CERT,  in order to share information, dispatch medical teams and search and rescue resources to help neighbors in need.

That is why we ask block captains, NRG active response teams, medical team and search and rescue team volunteers to practice with radios.

Additional training resources for Incident Command Protocols, forms, 2 NRG program wide drills, and First Aid for Disaster training are located under Getting Started-> Training or click here.
