We will add sample forms, templates, and lessons learned as shared from our NRG Community. Does your NRG have any lessons learned, practices, stories, forms they would like to share? Please send your contribution in here. Thank you!
Batteries. Because rechargeable batteries degrade, use disposable batteries. Store your hand held radios in your backpack separately from disposable batteries in a ziploc bag. Store the batteries in the same direction (i.e., positive charged side of all batteries should face the same direction) and wrap batteries securely with a rubber band. Do not store batteries in your device. Remember to carry lots of spare batteries.

Waterproof your Incident Command and Block Captain report forms.
Terry Sternberg, Baltimore Park NRG: One year when we did our drill, it rained so hard our Incident Command sheets fell apart. For the next drill, we preprinted our report forms, laminated them, and used grease pencils to mark them. Completely waterproof. We just have to wipe off the pencil with a handiwipe.
